The firms we recruit for

Independent advisory practices, RIAs and broker-dealers, accounting and tax firms, and insurance agencies. Most are small enough that a single hire changes how the whole office runs.

Who we work with

Firms where
a hire is felt
immediately

Most of our clients are independent practices rather than national firms. The person we are hiring for is usually the owner, often the lead advisor, and they are doing the interviewing between client meetings.

That is the whole reason the process is worth paying for. A firm of eight cannot absorb a bad hire the way a national can, and the owner does not have the hours to filter forty resumes to find the four worth meeting.

More from the firms we recruit for

DeRose FPG has worked with Humans Being Resources for many years to support the hiring needs of our Financial Advising Team, and they have become a trusted partner in helping us find the right candidates.

We especially value their thorough vetting process, from the initial screening of applications to video introductions that allow us to get to know candidates before meeting them. Their personality assessments also provide valuable insight into how each candidate may align with our existing team and firm culture.

With their years of expertise, extensive resources, and thoughtful approach to identifying qualified candidates, Humans Being Resources continues to be our go-to partner for our hiring needs!

President and Managing Partner, DeRose Financial Planning Group

We’ve had a great experience working with Humans Being Resources. They’ve taken the time needed to understand our firm, our culture, and what we’re looking for in a new team member.

Just as importantly, they’ve made the recruiting process significantly easier on our team, taking much of the work off our plate while consistently connecting us with qualified candidates who are a strong fit. We’ve now worked with them on multiple hires and have been extremely pleased with both the process and the people we’ve added to our team.

Working with Humans Being Resources has been an amazing experience from start to finish. Hiring someone is a big decision for any business owner, and it can feel scary for so many reasons. You’re investing your time, money, and energy into someone and hoping it will be the right fit. Humans Being Resources did an amazing job of taking that fear away and finding the right candidate for my business.

They introduced me to Nick, who has now been with me for two years and has become an invaluable part of my team. He is a true asset, and my clients love him!

I would absolutely recommend Humans Being Resources to other business owners looking to find the right person for their team.

As my business has grown, I’ve seen how critical it is to do the things that I can do best and delegate the rest. Hiring is no exception. I’m now on my 4th hire with Humans Being Resources and couldn’t be happier with my experience working with the company. For each hire, I’ve used their Elite package, which means that when I finally sit down with a candidate, they’ve already been vetted and tested to ensure they are an ideal fit for the position. Before I interview a candidate, I can review a substantial amount of valuable information, which makes my time with them far more productive. Throughout the process, HBR gives me counsel and advice to ensure that I’m complying with laws and making a good decision and offer. Don’t waste your time doing something you don’t like and aren’t any good at, I hope that’s clear enough, call HBR!

Roles we have filled for firms like yours

Permanent placements at independent advisory practices, accounting and tax firms, and insurance agencies across the country. Two recent searches, written up as they happened. Firm names are left out. Everything else is how it went.

Case study

Two roles filled at the same time

Our client came to us with an urgent need for a licensed Medicare insurance agent. We were already running a client service associate search for the same firm, and they asked us to put the insurance role first.

Licensed insurance roles have a smaller pool to work with. The person has to hold the license and have done the work, which cuts down who is worth calling. We moved that search to the front and kept the client service associate search running behind it.

The Medicare insurance agent position went live on June 9 and was filled on July 2, twenty-three days later. The client service associate role was filled in the same window. Two openings, two placements, one stretch of work.

Position live: June 9. Filled: July 2. Time to fill: 23 days. Positions filled: 2.

Case study

One search, two producing advisors

An Arizona financial services firm first brought us in for an executive assistant search. That one went well, and they came back for a producing advisor.

The role came with no transferable book of business and pay that was heavily commission-driven. That combination narrows the field. Experienced advisors often want some guaranteed base, and the people comfortable with straight commission are selective about which opportunity they take.

We presented several qualified candidates. Partway through the search the firm realized it had a need for two hires, across two offices a reasonable distance apart, and both candidates had come out of the same posting. That let them use the Additional Hire feature included in their package: one package fee plus two conclusion fees, rather than two full packages.

The total for both placements came to just under $14,000. On a first-year compensation of roughly $300,000, a contingency firm charging 20 to 30 percent would have billed somewhere between $60,000 and $90,000 for a single hire.

Result: two producing advisors, two offices strengthened, out of one search.

Partner with us

Let’s partner
together

We refer work out as often as we take it in. When a client needs something that is not recruiting, we point them to someone we trust. We are always looking to add to that list.

Strategic partners. Firms serving the same advisory, accounting and insurance practices we do, in a way we do not: compliance, operations, training, technology. When our client needs what you do, we want to know who to call.

Corporate partners. Networks, associations and firms who want a recruiting option they can put in front of their own members or clients. A defined process and published pricing, so there is nothing to negotiate each time.

Coaching network. Coaches who work with financial advisors and their teams. Tell us what you do and who you do it for.
