Wealth management recruiting in Florida
Permanent placements for advisory practices and wealth management firms along the Gulf coast and across to the Atlantic side, where the client base is older, wealthier and less forgiving of turnover than almost anywhere else we work.
The local market
Retirement
wealth, and
who serves it
Florida carries a concentration of retirement and pre-retirement wealth, which pulls in advisory practices at a density the population alone would not explain. Clients here are often drawing down rather than accumulating, and they tend to have been with their advisor a long time.
That changes what a practice needs from its staff. Client service work is heavier on relationship management and lighter on new business support, and clients notice a new face faster than they would somewhere with a younger book.

The state we work from
Humans Being Resources is based in Florida. The firm started in the Kansas City metro in 2016 and moved the operation here, and the Gulf coast is where the day-to-day work is run from now.
That shows up in practical ways rather than sentimental ones. Searches here run in our own time zone, we already know which coastal markets compete for the same client service people, and when a practice on this coast asks what a role should pay, we are not reading the answer off a national table.

What that means for a search
Turnover is
expensive
here
When a long-tenured client has to introduce themselves to a third new associate in two years, they start wondering whether the practice is stable. That is why we push firms here toward the deeper process tiers more often than we do elsewhere.
The other local factor is seasonal population. A candidate who moved down recently and a candidate who has been here fifteen years are different bets on tenure, and it is worth being honest about that during a search rather than after one.
Where we work
Florida markets
The largest markets in the state, and the ones a search here usually starts from. The Gulf coast is where we know the practices best, and we search the whole state from there.
Common Florida roles: Client Service Specialist, Financial Planner, Certified Financial Planner and Financial Advisor.
