Kansas City is one labor market and two states, and the city itself sits in Missouri. A candidate here and a candidate in Overland Park are competing for the same roles, but licensing, payroll and commute expectations do not line up neatly, and pay bands are not identical either side of the line.

Where we started
The metro we started in
Humans Being Resources was founded in the Kansas City metro in January 2016. This is where the firm took its first searches and built its first client list, and the advisory practices here are the ones we have known longest.
The operation has since moved to Florida and the firm recruits nationally, but Missouri is the market we started in. That is why this page reaches past the city line to Independence, Lee’s Summit and the rest of the state.
