Financial advisor recruiting in Pennsylvania
Permanent placements for independent advisory practices, RIAs and wealth management firms, from Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley west to Pittsburgh.
The local market
A state that
runs on
small places
Pennsylvania has two large metros in opposite corners, Philadelphia in the southeast and Pittsburgh in the southwest, with a line of mid-size markets running across the east between them: the Lehigh Valley, Reading, Scranton and Wilkes-Barre.
What the state does not have is many large cities. Seven municipalities in Pennsylvania reach 60,000 people, and three of its largest communities are townships rather than cities. Most independent advisory practices here sit in a borough or a township, not a downtown, which is why a search run off city names alone tends to miss them.
Proof
A Lehigh Valley client
Keystone Financial Management is an independent wealth management firm in Nazareth, a borough of about 6,000 people in Northampton County, just north of Bethlehem. It has served the Lehigh Valley since 2001 and is led today by Amber Carrick, President, and Eric Nikles, Partner and Wealth Advisor.
We’ve had a great experience working with Humans Being Resources. They’ve taken the time needed to understand our firm, our culture, and what we’re looking for in a new team member.
Just as importantly, they’ve made the recruiting process significantly easier on our team, taking much of the work off our plate while consistently connecting us with qualified candidates who are a strong fit. We’ve now worked with them on multiple hires and have been extremely pleased with both the process and the people we’ve added to our team.

What that means for a search
Three regions,
three pay
bands
Pay for the same role does not carry across Pennsylvania. A client service associate on the Main Line is not on the same band as the same job in Erie or Scranton, and an offer built on a statewide average is the offer that gets turned down.
That is the part of the search you are actually paying for. We research what the role pays in your part of the state before the ad goes out, then go directly to people already doing the job well nearby.
Where we work
Pennsylvania markets
The largest communities in the state by population. Several are townships and boroughs rather than cities, which is how Pennsylvania is actually organized, and where a good many of its advisory practices sit.
Common Pennsylvania roles: Client Service Associate, Financial Advisor Assistant, Financial Advisor and Certified Financial Planner.
